He’ll be in my dreams,
never speaking, but I know
Dad’s still there for me.

  1. Love the new look and added comment section! I love this haiku and it has special meaning to me. I lost my father in 1980. I miss him every single day. The things he’ll never see. The daughter born the year he died. All the rest of my children. The great grandchildren he’ll never meet. He would have loved them all so dearly. Mostly I miss the healing of our relationship that never got to happen. Thank you for this poem. It is a help-meet for me and I hope for you as well. Love you so much LaMar.

  2. “never speaking” – but still sort of a communication without words. This is a common thing – and I feel like we just aren’t meant to understand it yet.

    But we will.

  3. As an update… I finally had a dream where Dad spoke to me. Oddly enough, it didnt make me feel better. Somehow, I wanted more from it than I got.

  4. Lamar–a beautiful thought expressed
